Terms & Conditions

Use of Cook County Released Inmates means acceptance of these terms. They govern access to the site, its reference content, and outside tools reached through it. A visitor who does not accept these conditions should not use the site.

Cook County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with a government body, sheriff, jail, or corrections department. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers a consumer report or any FCRA-covered service for credit, employment, insurance, or tenant screening. The site is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

Nature of This Site

This is a private reference that points visitors toward Cook County Sheriff records, Minnesota corrections searches, court files, release-notification systems, and federal custody resources. It stores no official record and cannot confirm live custody, release a person, post bond, or file a request for a visitor.

Some links connect to outside research tools. Those providers control their services, results, prices, and terms.

Acceptable Use Rules

  • Break a law through use of the site

  • Use information for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another prohibited eligibility decision
  • Attempt unauthorized access to the site or another service
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated extraction tools
  • Disrupt access or degrade the service for others

  • Any other purpose governed by the FCRA

Outside Websites and Tools

Links may lead to Sheriff or corrections systems, release records, government portals, legal resources, and outside search services. A link does not endorse the destination. This site is not responsible for another service’s content, data practices, terms, pricing, security, or availability. Visitors should review the destination’s own rules.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are offered “as is” and “as available.” No promise is made that:

  • Information is accurate, complete, or current
  • Access will always be uninterrupted
  • Code is free of errors, bugs, or security weaknesses
  • A partner search returns every relevant record

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing here is an official statement by Cook County, a sheriff, a court, or a correctional agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site, its owners, and its contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of a linked service.

User Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the site and its operators harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees caused by that visitor’s use, misuse, violation of law, or breach of these terms.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless otherwise identified, the site’s original text, graphics, logos, arrangement, and code belong to Cook County Released Inmates or its content partners. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, or modified without written permission. Government records reached through links remain subject to their own rules.

Revisions to These Terms

These terms may change at any time. A revised version takes effect when posted, and continued use after posting means acceptance of the new terms.

Access May Be Revoked

Access may be limited, suspended, or blocked at any time and without notice, including when conduct threatens the site, other users, or legal compliance.

Minnesota Governing Law

These terms are governed by Minnesota law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in Minnesota.

Severability of Terms

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
